Yummy Mummy Style Essentials
Hey Lovelies
During the summer, I purchased and wore two dresses from ASOS. I received quite a few compliments on both of the dresses so thought I would share them with you.
One of the reasons why I wanted to share these two dresses, in particular, was because one of the comments/compliments went along the lines of
"wow you're brave to wear such a bold pattern in a dress. I mean, you know if it was a top or a shirt... but you pulled it off though. Well done".
Now you know I am all for mummies looking and feeling yummy but I was left wondering whether that was a compliment or not. In general, it is so important that we do not rely on other peoples views of what they think to be "nice" or "acceptable" to influence our fashion choices.
I think it is important to try to take risks when dressing up. Try different things and see what suits you. If you try something and it looks good, then you may have established a new look. If it doesn't look good then don't try it again, lol. My point is your personal style is all about what you like or prefer for yourself 💅.
Now that I am a mum, dressing up has taken a different journey for me. My body has changed and I had to get used to dressing my new body. At times the practicality of an outfit would take priority over the beauty or trendiness of an outfit (especially when I was breastfeeding). Ultimately comfortability is key for me right now. However, just because I am going for comfortability and practicality, this does not mean that I cannot look good doing so.
I have done a lookbook of two dresses. One a BOLD floral print and the other a polka dot. Have a look at these dresses and let me know what you think. Did I pull it off?
